How to get here

By Car:

Follow the AP -7 (motorway) south from Tarragona / Barcelona or north from Valencia / Castellón until junction 41. Turn off and after passing through the toll booth follow the road across the River Ebro and past Amposta (N340). After 11km, turn off at the first exit for Sant Carles de la Ràpita. See town map. By Plane:

Easyjet operate from many British airports (Luton, Stansted, Gatwick, Liverpool, Newcastle , Bristol ) and from other European cities ( Berlin , Dortmund , Geneva , Paris , Basel ) to Barcelona (also Berlin , Bristol , Gatwick and Stansted to Valencia ).

Jet2 operate from Leeds Bradford and Belfast to Barcelona , and from Manchester to Valencia . From Barcelona a fast motorway (AP-7) runs south allowing you to reach Sant Carles in around two hours. Alternatively, a shuttle train from the airport runs to Barcelona 's Estacio Sants, where you can catch a train south.

Ryanair operate from Liverpool, Luton, Stansted, Dublin , Glasgow and Frankfurt to Reus, near Tarragona. On the AP-7, the journey takes around an hour on the motorway.

By Train:

Trains run from Barcelona (Estacio Sants) in 2 to 2½ hours and from Tarragona in 1 hour to L'Aldea-Amposta station. From there you will need to get a taxi to Sant Carles de la Ràpita which will take around 20 minutes.

 

By Bus:

A company called HIFE run a service from Calle Numancia near the Avinguda Diagonal and L'Illa shopping centre in Barcelona directly to Sant Carles de la Ràpita. The journey takes approximately 2½ hours. There is a shuttle train service from Barcelona airport to Estacio Sants which is about a kilometre from the bus stop in Calle Numancia.
